Bad Moon Rising - Hybrid Swindon and Online - 09/07/22
There's been some extra demand for our Bad Moon Rising game which was already pretty much filled up since it was originally scheduled in 2020. In addition, Jim and I wanted to run a version of Bad Moon Rising as a 'Hybrid' game, with some of the players being in online roles whilst some play in-person.
Bad Moon Rising:
Set in a "very slightly alternative" 1970s, the game takes place during the tensions of the Cold War, as the USA and the USSR have taken the space race to the next level, building bases and infrastructure on the moon in an attempt to gain the upper hand. Players will need to handle politics, logistics, scientific and technological development, as well as some low-level warfare, security and espionage concerns, as the powers of the world try to wrest control of our nearest celestial neighbor. All while trying to make sure that the Cold War doesn't go hot! Bad Moon Rising is designed by Jim Wallman, creator of the famous 'Watch The Skies!', as well as numerous other games.
Bad Moon Rising is a game by Jim Wallman, designer of the famous 'Watch The Skies!', played all over the world, as well as numerous other megagames.
More information and sign ups can be found on the game's page.
Bad Moon Rising is loosely based on the real-life declassified Project Horizon files, originally produced in 1959 by the US Army about the practicalities of military moonbases. It will have quite a lot of juicy hard science technical detail as a result, though there will also be a healthy amount of science fiction as well.
The 'Moon' game will be held at Moredon Community Centre (1 The St, Swindon SN25 3ER). The 'Earth' part will be played online on a Discord server. The game will run all day from about 10am to about 5pm (BST) on the 9th July 2022.
