Set in a galaxy nearing the end of a costly war, By Other Means is a game about tense negotiations, delicate alliances, and careful, costly warfare. The great Huangdi Empire and their militaristic allies sit across battlefields and negotiation tables with their former vassals and political allies, as well as mercenaries, traders, raiders and rival Kingdoms.
Players take on the role of senior officials and diplomats from the major galactic powers. The game involves a small amount of grand strategy and military operations, but the majority of time and attention will be focused on negotiation and discussion. By Other Means is designed by Ed Silverstone, a long time megagamer and member of Reading Megagames.
The game will be held at Frenchay Village Hall (Beckspool Rd, Bristol BS16 1NU) on the 13th August 2022. The game will run all day from about 10am to about 5pm. More details about everything, including how to sign up, can be found on the website: www.swmegagames.co.uk/by-other-means
